Charging Systems and Diagnostics
EVS 115 explores the foundational concepts of AC and DC charging, including power transfer, communication protocols, and safety interlocks. Students will learn about the various components within a vehicle's charging architecture, from the charge port to the onboard charger and DC-DC converter. Emphasis is placed on using diagnostic tools and service information to accurately pinpoint issues related to charging performance, communication errors, and power delivery problems. Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory exercises, participants will develop the expertise required to safely and effectively diagnose and repair electric vehicle charging systems in a professional service environment.
